Transfer of Ownership Fee
At TELUS, we understand that circumstances change, and sometimes you may need to transfer ownership of your mobile phone number. Whether you're sharing your TELUS Employee Purchase Plan (EPP) benefits with family or friends or simply need to transfer a number, we are here to help you through the process. Below, we outline the key points regarding the transfer of ownership and the associated fee.
TELUS EPP Requirements
To maintain your TELUS EPP discount, it’s essential that the TELUS account is in the same name as the employee. This ensures that you can enjoy the benefits of the EPP while sharing them with your loved ones. If you wish to share your EPP discount, you can add family and friends to your TELUS EPP account, allowing them to benefit from the same great rates.
Completing a Transfer of Ownership
To initiate a transfer of ownership (TOWN), both the current account owner and the new account owner must speak directly with TELUS Client Care. This step is crucial to ensure that both parties are informed and agree to the transfer.
1. **Authorization from Current Account Owner**: The account owner of the number being transferred must authorize the release of their phone number from their current account. This authorization is a necessary step to protect the account holder's privacy and ensure that the transfer is legitimate.
2. **Acceptance by New Account Owner**: The EPP account owner who will be taking over the ownership of the phone number must also provide their authorization. This confirms their acceptance of the phone number under their TELUS EPP account, ensuring a smooth transition.
Transfer of Ownership Fee
Please note that TELUS charges a one-time Transfer of Ownership fee of $75 per line. This fee is typically billed to the existing account owner on their next or final bill from TELUS. This fee helps cover the administrative costs associated with processing the transfer and updating account information.
If you have any questions or need assistance with the transfer of ownership process, please don’t hesitate to reach out to TELUS Client Care. We’re here to help you every step of the way!
