Manufacturer’s Warranty


At TELUS, we want you to enjoy your new phone with peace of mind, which is why all new TELUS phones, smartphones, and mobility products come with a limited manufacturer’s warranty. This warranty typically lasts between one to three years, depending on the specific model you purchase. For detailed information regarding the terms and conditions of your warranty, please refer to the warranty documentation included with your device.


TELUS' Limited Warranty Extension for Eligible Smartphones


In addition to the manufacturer’s warranty, TELUS offers a 12-month limited warranty extension on select new smartphones. This extension begins once the original one-year manufacturer’s warranty expires. Under this warranty, your phone will be covered for defects in materials and workmanship, provided it meets certain eligibility criteria.


To qualify for this warranty extension, your phone must be purchased from TELUS or Koodo on or after November 18, 2025, and must be associated with an active TELUS or Koodo mobility plan. Additionally, the original manufacturer’s warranty must not exceed one year. Please note that certain devices, such as Sonim phones, tablets, watches, and accessories, are not eligible for this warranty extension.


Exclusions from the Warranty Extension


The TELUS 1-year Limited Warranty extension does not cover several specific circumstances. For instance, if your phone has reached its repairable lifetime due to parts unavailability, or if the phone’s serial number or warranty seal has been tampered with, the warranty will not apply. Other exclusions include defects caused by excessive wear and tear, rough handling, exposure to moisture, or unauthorized modifications and repairs. Additionally, issues arising from battery tampering or using faulty accessories are not covered.


Transferability


The good news is that the TELUS 1-year Limited Warranty extension is tied to your phone’s IMEI number and is transferable as long as the device remains on an active TELUS or Koodo mobility plan. This means that if you decide to sell or give away your phone, the warranty can still benefit the new owner.


Phone Repairs at TELUS


All new TELUS iPhone devices, smartphones, and feature phones come with a limited manufacturer’s warranty of one to three years, depending on the model. For any repair needs, please refer to the warranty information included with your device for complete rules and conditions.
